Shingle beach at Glenelg, Looking east. Glenelg is a small remote and scattered village community at the other side of the Ratagan pass from Shiel Bridge. The Mam Ratagan Pass (or Bealach Ratagain) is a high mountain pass between Shiel Bridge on the A87 (main road to Skye) historic Glenelg. The Ratagan pass is a popular scenic route for tourists because there is a small car ferry (the Kylerhea Ferry) near Glenelg taking cars to the botton of Skye.
