Le Menec Alignments at dawn Many long rows of standing stones in early morning mist north of the town of Carnac
of course just about every visitor turns to the next and asks "why do you suppose they built these?" Many good minds have set about answering this question including Prof. who has made complex mathematical measurements and calculations. Interesting, but I'm not convinced we are any nearer a defining answer. When were they built? No real way of knowing because the stones were already ancient when they were propped up. I'm content to marvel at the sites.
