Thisfoundry busi-ness had pre-viously beencon ducted bythree differentparties, but theconcern was afailu re finan-cially up to thetime of Mr. Mc-Gloughlins advent. Under his carefulmanagement, however, the concern hasprospered, and by strict attention to bus-iness and enterprising methods, he hasbuilt up a large and prosperous industry. Mr. McGloughlin was married toMrs. Anna Greene, March 24, 1879,and they have one daughter, Miss Flor-ence S. McGloughlin. Mr. McGloughlin is an Episcopalian,and a member of the Knights of Pyth-ias, which he joined in Concord in1879, also of the Ancient Order of. James McGloughlin United Workmen, which he joined inthe same city in 1S87. He has held several public offices, be-ing elected a selectman of Ward 4 in1895, and a councilman from the sameward in 1896. In 1897 he representedhis ward in the legislature. As a business man and manufacturer,Mr. McGloughlin has been very success-ful. His iron foundry business is one ofthe largest in this section of New Hamp-shire and he supplies not only the cityof Laconia, but the city of Franklin, andnumerous smalltowns and vil-lages with theiron ca s t i n g srequired in then u merous ma-chine shops,mills, and fac-tories.
