Model for use in augmented surgery. Computer model, based on body scans, of a patient's internal organs. Some of the organs and structures seen include the pelvis (bottom), the bladder (round, pink), the kidneys (orange), the liver (dark red) and the lungs (pink). This model is designed to be used in augmented reallity surgery, where surgeons view this model superimposed on a patient during an operation (see T490/333). The surgeons can use remotely controlled telesurgical instruments to carry out the operation. This system was developed at the European Institute of Telesurgery (EITS), in Strasbourg, France.
