Cantilever bridge mechanism. This hinge mechanism is part of one of the bridges over a canal at the coastal town of Sete, France. The bridge is designed to be lifted vertically from this end to allow canal and coastal boats to pass. Sete is a port on the Etang de Thau, a lagoon on the French Mediterranean coast.
