" Eighteen Thousand Tides "An art gallery curator positioning the pieces of a massive sculpture by David Nash in Manor Gardens Eastbourne East Sussex England UK. It was made from oak logs which had spent 25 years serving as groynes on Eastbourne seafront being battered by 18,000 tides washing over them . They were replaced with new sea defences and reworked as sculptures . The woman up the ladder was the curator of the Towner Art Gallery Eastbourne 16 October 1996 Picture by Roger Bamber
