Col. Christopher Meeker, 88th Air Base Wing and installation commander, makes remarks prior to firing the starting pistol for the 5-kilometer, the first race of the 2022 Air Force Marathon Sept. 17, at Wright State University, Fairborn, Ohio. More than 8,500 runners and 1,500 volunteers from all 50 states and 18 different countries came out to run in the race’s 26th year.
