This beautiful egg plant is a great improvement over the well-known and largely grown New York Purple. The plants are remarkably healthy in their growth, and produce an abundance of large fruit fully ten days earlier than the New York. Pkt., 10c; oz., 50c; lb., New Tork Improved Purple. This variety is a general favorite both for market and private use. Fruits ~ large, oval: color a splendid dark purple. Plants usually ripen four to eight large fruits. When the plants are two or three inches high, transplant them into light soil, one foot apart. When the leaves are eight to ten inches long, tie the tops together to blanch the heart and remove the bitter taste. May be lifted late in fall with ball of earth attached and place close to- gether in a frame or cellar. It makes a delicious salad for winter use. One ounce will sow 150 feet of drill. Green Moss Curled. A uniqtie variety, somewhat re- sembling a tuft of moss. Very crisp, tender and of good flavor. Being less hardy than other sorts, it reauires protection from cold.
