ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE, DRAWING

Alzheimer’s disease is the cause of three-fourths of all cases of dementia in subjects over 65 years of age. Dementia results from a reduction in the number of nerve cells and brain atrophy. A reduction in brain volume, particularly the gray matter which is rich in nerve cells, is a characteristic feature of Alzheimer’s disease.
