As the Probate District of Woodbury, to which the building l)e-longs, is one of the oldest and most important in the State, someword with regard to its records would not be out of place. Thefirst distinctly Probate Courts of the State were established in 1716,and were Hartford, Xew Haven. Xew London, and Fairfield. Thefirst ones established after this were in 1716, when Windham, (nul-ford and Woodbury were established. The first court held in thisdistrict of Woodbury was held Feljrua
