The bright, light-yellow pods are borne in clusters of three and four at every joint of the vines, and on a pole in full bearing the yellow of the pods greatly predominates over the green of the foliage,— well warranting its name, "; The pods, six to eight inches long, are perfectly straight, and al- though flat wrhen young, are meaty, of finest quality, and entirely stringless. The dry beans are rich brown in color and of good quality for winter use. The great productiveness and hardiness of this variety render it particularly valuable for gen- eral cultivation, as, grown either on poles in the garden or with a field crop of corn, it can be used as a snap bean throughout the season and the surplus saved for winter use. The Jackson Wonder was exten- sively advertised throughout the South last year and met with a large sale at 25 cts. per pkt. of 10 beans. Thoroughly tested at Ford hook Farm, we would pronounce it a prolific strain of the Speckled Sieva, or small Lima, of established bush character and real merit, resembling Henderson's Bush Lima, but larger in size of beans, with better filled pods; it is also more easily shelled than the Henderson Lima.
