A certified dyslexia testing specialist reads his dyslexic elementary-school girl pupil "sight words" she has attempted to spell on a computer. The keyboard is used because dyslexics cannot form letters. "Sight words" cannot be "sounded out" in the usual way because certain letters do not make a predictable sound. Such instruction is typical of the Orton-Gillingham Approach which is language-based, multisensory, structured, sequential, cumulative, cognitive, and flexible.
