While it is advisable for those who go south of Mammoth Hot Springs to take a trunk as far asthe Springs, a medium-sized suit case or valise and a shawl strap will hold all that is necessary for theordinary tour in the park. Laundering can be done for tourists at the Mammoth Hot Springs hotelwhile the trip through the park is being made. 13 YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK. The disciples of Izaak Walton feel at home in Yellowstone Park. There is lots ofROYAL FISHING fishing and it is free to everybody under certain and easy restrictions. Some years since the United States Fish Commission placed different varietiesof fish in various waters of the park. The results have been such that, coupled with the fine fishingfound before that time in Yellowstone lake and river, the streams in nearly all portions of the reservenow teem with trout of numerous species, grayling, brook trout. Loch Leven, etc., making this regionthe finest trout park in the world. That the Government still takes an interest in this matter is shown by the fact that during theyear 1905 it planted in various lakes and streams of the park more than 100,000 Brook trout{Salvelinus fontinalis), 2lV\A nearly 400,000 fry of Sabno clarkii.
