Christopher Columbus (1451-1506). Navigator, cartographer and admiral. He served the Crown of Castile. Landing of Christopher Columbus on the island of Guanahani, on 12th October 1492, erecting the cross and baptising the island in the name of Christ, calling it San Salvador Island (in the archipelago of The Bahamas).
