Caledonian Railway 4-4-0 steam locomotive No. 725 of the Dunalastair 1 class as LMS 14315
The Caledonian Railway 721 Class (known as the "Dunalastair" class) was a class of 4-4-0 steam locomotives designed by John F. McIntosh for the Caledonian Railway (CR) and introduced in 1896. 35 were built and all survived to be absorbed by the London, Midland and Scottish Railway (LMS) in 1923 but were with drawn between 1930 and 1935 A further three similar classes of saturated and two of superheated 4-4-0s were subsequently built but increasingly powerful.
