Sally port in the center of the southwestern point of entrenchments around the town of Yorktown in Virginia during the American Civil War. The Siege of Yorktown was fought from April 5 to May 4, 1862. The battle was inconclusive as the Conferderate forces pulled out of their positions by night, escaping intact to Williamsberg.
