A 5-inch main flow -would answer for each house, but there will be no occa- sion for using five 4-inch flows within the houses. Two would be ample, but would be less desirable than five 2^2- inch flows. FLOW SYSTEM Enclosed you will find a sketch of six houses, with dimensions. I should like to know if the heating system will work all right if the flow pipes are run just above the ground on a gradual uphill grade to the far west end of the houses, and the returns back just below them to the boiler. Or would it be better to have the high point at the boiler and carry the flow pipes on the gutter posts? We should like to have all the pipes next to the ground, as the flow pipes will be in the way at the east entrances if thoy are carried overhead. We can sink the boiler to any depth necessary. You will note on the sketch that the houses are three feet above the boiler shed level at the southeast corner, six feet higher than the boiler shed level at the southwest corner, and three feet h
