As soon as the weather opens and the sets are the size of a goose quill plant in rows 12 inches apart and 4 to 6 inches between the onions. For main crop, sow in the open ground in March and April in drills 12 inches apart, thinning out afterwards to 3 or 4 inches apart Prizetaker Has proven successful in all sections of the country under varied conditions ot climate and soil. Under good conditions the onions grow to enormous size, frequently measuring 12 to 18 inches in circumference and usually carry off the highest prizes when exhibited. The skin is bright yellow, slightly shaded with light brown, and even though thin it affords plenty of protection. The flesh is pure white, solid, juicy, crisp and mild.
