The participants are headed to the medical facility to receive simulated care for mock injuries during the Navy’s Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) exercise, as part of the humanitarian assistance and disaster relief portion of the training event. Regional Health Command-Pacific Soldiers and civilians participated in the statewide medical response training to enhance operability, test communication and exercise crisis response capabilities amongst interagency partners. Twenty-five nations, 45 ships, five submarines, about 200 aircraft and 25,000 personnel are participating in RIMPAC from June 27 to Aug 2 in and around the Hawaiian Island and Southern California. The world's largest maritime exercise, RIMPAC provides a unique training opportunity while fostering and sustaining cooperative relationships among participants critical to ensuring the safety of sea lanes and security of the world's oceans. RIMPAC is the 26th exercise in the series that began in 1971. ( Navy photo by Ana Allen/Released)
