Space Radar Laboratory-2 in orbit. The antennas of the second Space Radar Laboratory (SRL-2) seen in the payload bay of Shuttle Endeavour during Mission STS-68. The antenna consists of two primary sections. The largest is the Shuttle Imaging Radar-C (SIR-C), consisting of the large central panels and the smaller panels along the left. Along the right edge of the array is the X- band Synthetic Aperture Radar (X-SAR), a German- Italian instrument. SRL-2 was designed to provide radar images of Earth for geology, hydrology and oceanography researchers. Mission STS-68 flew on 30 September to 11 October 1994.
