Hepatitis A virus (HAV). HAV causes an often asymptomatic hepatitis (in 90% of cases) and is almost always benign. It is transmitted enterally (contaminated water and food). Image produced using high-dynamic-range imaging (HDRI) from an image taken with transmission electron microscopy. Viral diameter around 20-30 nm.
