Although introduced by one seed house as Jordaji's Gray Monarch, by another as Long White Icing, we consider the two names synonymous, as descriptive of one variety. The skin is of an attrac- tive, mottled, very light green color, so light as to nearly warrant the name white or gray. The flesh is deep red in color and of very finequality—fully equal to the old Icing, which has long been recognized as one of the finest flavored watermelons grown. In size, this new variety is much larger than the old, .specimens having been raised to weigh 60 to 70 fljs. each. Per pkt. 5 cts.; oz. 10 cts.; ft) 25 cts.; per lb 85 cts. BURPEE'S HUNGARIAN HONEY WATERMELON. The melon from which the illustra- tion was taken weighed 11 j pounds, and measured 28-} inches in stem and blossom end circumference, being prac- tically a perfect globe in shape. All the melons were as "alike as two peas "—none varying in shape or color, and scarcely a variance of two pounds in weight — making it remarkably ''^thoroughbred.'''' The color of the skin is a handsome, medium dark green, with dim waterings of a darker green. The HuN- GAKiAN Honey Melon is very appropriately so called, itisSURPASSIXGLY SWEET and LUSCIOUS, of a very rich honey flavor, richer and sweeter to the taste than anj' other watermelon. The flesh is of an intensely brilliant red color, and absolutely s^rirtf/Zess—completely melting in the mouth, and of the same beautiful red color up towithin one-fourth of an inch, or less, of the outer skin. The melons ripen early, the vines are healthy, and very productive.
