Luke Le Corns departure, whenthe defection became almost general) and be-tween One and 200 Provincials exclusive of 70or 80 Canadians bearing arms under & Boucherville-^including these & theresidue (about 40) of Reidesils Dragoons, thewhole might amount to something more than6,000 Men & Officers. The Sailors employedwith the Batteauxs, Canadian Drivers, Artificers&c not bearing Arms or included in the above,were I apprehend, about 300. It is to berecollected that the Artillery, Additional Gun-ners, Sick, Servants & Batt-Men are to be ex-tracted from the number bearing arms, whichv^oud probably reduce it to nearly 5,000 Effec-tives including the Guns & Ordnance were 2 Lt. 24 Pounders.
