AWARDED DISTINGUISHED FLYING CROSS : ACTING SQUADRON LEADER LEWIS DAVID LEICESTER, SQUADRON. - This officer has attacked some of the most heavily defended targets in Germany, including objectives in Berlin, Hamburg and Cologne. He is a fine leader, whose courage, skill and resolution have contributed in a large measure to the fine fighting qualities of the flight he commands.
