BRAMPTON, ONT. Three prominent western growers passed through here early this week on their way to the S. A. F. convention at Chicago. T. W. Duggan and J. E. Cooper, of the Dale Estate, have just returned from a trip to Cobalt and surrounding towns with the Associated Boards of Trade. They were much impressed with the possibilities of business in these new centers, and agreeably surprised to find so many beauty spots in the neigh- borhood of the silver mines. Trade continues fair considering the peculiar weather conditions, and the quantity of stock remains unequal to the demand. Orders for florists' supplies for the coming winter are an indication of the continuation of good times throughout the Dominion. Mark Henderson has a house of early mums coming in, and the Dale Estate has been cutting some* fine Golden Glow for the last three weeks. W. G. P. RICHMOND, VA. The demand for good stock for the last week proved excellent, the supply being none too large. Gladioli and asters are the leaders, with a few good Maryland. Killarney and White Kil- larney are poor. Carnations have held their own and seem to be getting bet- ter each day. As a whole, business has been better this season than it has for a number of years. Mr. Apt, manager of the Hammond Co., reports business excellent for the fiummer season. John L. Batcliffe & Co. are erecting three greenhouses, 36x200, to be used en- tirely for roses and carnations.
