Photograph of the HMS Maori wreck outside Grand Harbor in Valletta, Malta, Mediterranean Sea.
This ship was named after the indigenous people of New Zealand. The HMS Maori served as destroyer ship in the Mediterranean Fleet until it was bombed by Germans and sunk in 1942. The wreck was later emptied and represents now a popular dive site in the harbor of Valletta, the capital of Malta.
