Afghan Special Security Forces (ASSF) remain in the region after a failed attempt by the Taliban to take control of government buildings. The Taliban has been unable to meet any of its stated goals in the last two fighting seasons. Security patrols by Commandos continue in Farah city and surrounding areas in response to a failed attempt by Taliban forces to take control of government buildings in the region in mid-May. Taliban fighters in the area were forced to withdraw by Afghan Special Security Forces and retreated from the region, preventing them from conducting any further attacks in Farah City or the surrounding region.
