Entering the station from the plaza oneenters directly the large general waiting- fixtures, distributed one each in the cen-ter of each ceiling panel. The wallsof this room are painted a rich scarletlake, toned slightly toward terra cotta red,with all window and door trim, pilasters,beams, etc., an old ivory white, and theceiling a light buff. The bases of thepilasters are bronzed and the caps aregilded. The ornament on the ceiling beams, etc.,is picked out in gold, scarlet and blue, thecolors being made to harmonize with the. LEVATOR TO 0FKICK8 room, which is 55 feet wide by 90 feet long,and .<0 feet high. This room is decoratedarchitecturally with massive Tuscan pilas-ters and heavy-beamed ceiling. It iswainscoted throughout with Verde-Antiquemarble, and the floor is laid with whitemarble tile, with dark red borders. Threelarge art glass ceiling lights light the middleof the room through skylights in the roof,while the room is lighted electrically bytweke specially-designed bronze pilasterbracket lights, carrying three large opalglobes each, and fifteen large special bowl colors of the art glass ceiling lights. Thefinish on all electric fixtures is dull old brass,to match the hardware throughout the build-ing. The general effect of the room is thatof richness and dignity. Prom the general waiting-room a corridorleads to the left to the baggage and parcelcheck rooms, and to the right to the expresscompanys rooms and offices, these two de-partments being located in the
