A portrait of Lady Maria Conynham by Sir Thomas Lawrence, the leading portraitist of the era. Born in 1810, she was the daughter of Henry Conyngham, Viscount Conyngham, an Irish peer and his wife Elizabeth, who became the final mistress of the future King George IV of England.
