Planted in warm, sandy soil, the bulbs increase rapidly and furnish a constant succession of delicately beauti- ful flowers, which are borne in clusters of three or four, and are white, suffused with pink. Hardy. 4 cents each; cents per doze7i. Amaryllis Belladonna Major. These plants do best in a warm, sunny, well- drained place out of doors, where they can receive some protection in winter and remain undisturbed for several years, when they will throw up great clusters of beautiful rosy-white flowers which will be the glory of the garden. Set the bulbs as early in the autumn as possible, surrounding and covering each bulb with clean sand, so that the top will be about two inches below the surface. Protect from severe frosts, taking care that the covering is not such as will hold ice and snow, ij cents each; $ per dozen. Amaryllis Formosissima (Sprekelia, Jacobean Lily). Each of the five narrow petals of this flower are three to four inches long and a very intense, rich scarlet color of un- equaled brilliancy, vividness and purity. The plants are easily grown, and although the bulbs are not hardy they can be easily preserved during the AMARYLLIS. winter in a dry cellar and planted in the open ground in the spring. They may be grown in water like Hyacinths. 13 cents each; $ per dozen. GYCLAMEN There is no more ornamental plant for greenhouse or parlor culture than the Cyclamen. It grows readily, blossoms freely, and remains a long time in flower.
