It is generall}' due to some injury, and sometimes follows canker as a result of repeated bruising from the shaking of the ears and con- stant rubbing or scratching. The patient shakes his head and gives short }-ens of pain when the ear strikes the head, or will hold the head on one side so that the injured ear becomes pendulous. Examination of the ear-flap reveals a soft fluctuating.
