The Brooklyn Heights Railroad Company expects tohave ready for use by January ist three parlor cars forrenting to theatre parties. The cars will be twenty-fivefeet in length, mounted on double trucks, and will be veryhandsomely furnished and decorated. As electric roads grow in size and the various linescomposing one system grow more reumerous, it becomesnecessary for the sake of economy in handling traffic toseparate the car sheds belonging to the various lines, lo-cating each at the point most convenient for the territory shop, and in place of them new or repaired parts arereturned. The shop about to be described was laid out to fitthe above system. The main requirements were sufficientpit capacity for both the monthly overhauling and emer-gency repairs, a carpenter shop, electrical repair shop,paint shop, a machine shop sufficient to handle the workof the whole system, and track room enough to hold aworking reserve of rolling stock. In addition, space wasprovided in the same building for the stock room, fromwhich all the supplies of the whole system are issued. The plan
