During the five years spent on theroad in Western Ontario Mr. Ellis hasmade some warm friends, who will beglad to learn of his acceptance of andsuccess in the new position. AMEND SILVER MARKING ACT. Manufacturers of silver plated wareare endeavoring to secure the adoptionof several amendments made to thegold and silver marking Act. Theyclaim that gold and silver goods arebeing brought into Canada from theUnited States and other countrieswrongly marked, sometimes marked asa better quality than they really are,therefore selling cheaper, and hurtingthe local trade.
