OCEAN (Sept. 19, 2016) Airman Cristian Gravelle, from Longview, Wash., leads the hose team into a smoke-filled space while Hull Replacement Technician 3rd Class Denis Pinedacordova, from Boston, Mass., uses a naval firefighting thermal imager (NFTI) to search for hot spots during a shipboard fire-fighting drill aboard the amphibious transport dock ship USS Somerset (LPD 25). Somerset, part of the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group, is conducting integrated training with the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit off the coast of Southern California in preparation for its maiden deployment.
