I have brought before you to-night a caseof unusual interest to opathalmologists andto medical men in general. The patient has. in his right eye what is known as a per-sistent pupillary membrane. This is aremnant of foetal life, but its exact structurehas not been ascertained. Some consider itto be made up of atrophied blood-vessels,which have served their purpose. In this mans right eye thereis a network of hair-like fibres occupyingthe outer half of the pupil. These fibresoriginate from the anterior surface of theiris, and interfere in no way with the con-strictor muscle of the pupil.
