Derwent Resevoir Dam in the Upper Derwent Valley, Derbyshire, at Low Water Level July 2018

Derwent Reservoir is the middle of three reservoirs in the Upper Derwent Valley in the Peak District of Derbyshire. The three reservoirs , Howden,Derwent and Ladybower, are linked by the River Derwent flowing through the valley. In the hot summer of 2018 the water levels were down below 50% as shown in this image. The dam was completed in 1916. The Dam Busters, 617 squadron, used the dams for practice before their daring raid into Germany in World War II.
