The gableends are covered withshingles after the manner ofbuilding in the early years ofthe eighteenth century whenthe house was upper floor was plannedwith small windows placedin the gable ends of thebuilding, and also with largedormers which light therooms upon this floor with-out interfering unduly withthe graceful lines of the roofor breaking its swee
