Thousands of donut lovers flock to Flatiron Plaza in New York to celebrate National Donut Day on Friday, June 5, 2015. Supported by Entenmann's, the bakers gave out 40,000 chocolate donuts and donated $30,000 to the Salvation Army. National Donut Day, the first Friday in June, was created in 1938 by the Salvation Army to honor the "donut lassies" who administered treats and solace to soldiers during WW1.
