Looking NW from the entrance passage of Rubh'an Dunain Neolithic chambered tomb, Isle of Skye, Scotland, UK, showing the antechanber with the now roofless polygonal burial chamber beyond. The tomb is largely constructed using a post-and-panel technique of upright stones alternating with drystone masonry. The Hebridean round cairn is edged by a peristalith built in this style, as is the facade of the V-shaped forecourt at the ESE. The tomb was excavated by Sir Lindsay & Mrs Scott in 1931 & 1932. They found it was used for burials & ceremonies in the Neolithic (3rd millennium BC) & also in the Bronze Age (early 2nd millennium BC) by people using Beaker pottery.
