The merit of the plantsobtained will, of course, be governed by the price paid, for theprogeny of one seed pod will vary greatly, and the more finelycoloured and the shapeliest flowers always command the highestprices. The hybrids add a great variety of form and colour to acollection and they are therefore most desirable. Very few people,however, can afford to purchase the finest and rarest and newest ofthese evidences of the hybridists skill, and it is a mistake, from thepoint of view of popularising Orchid cultu
