Many things contribute to alcoholism including genetics. A great concern is that young adults as young as 12 can have an inclination towards alcoholism. Some people have a greater resistance to alcohol and require more to get drunk. Drinking alcohol to get drunk and not because of the taste is a frequent reason for young people to drink. These people have a greater likelihood of becoming alcoholic. Drunkenness or inebriation is the state of being intoxicated by consumption of alcoholic beverages to a degree that mental and physical faculties are noticeably impaired and/or skewed. Severe drunkenness may lead to acute alcohol intoxication. Common symptoms may include slurred speech, impaired balance, poor coordination, flushed face, reddened eyes, reduced inhibition and uncharacteristic behavior.
