Post-mortem on bullet wound in head. Image 2 of 2. This shows extensive and fatal, internal damage caused by the close-range discharge of a gun to the head. The removal of the outer tissue layers has revealed a skull that has been shattered by the force of the bullet. The blackened area shows where the bone and tissue has been charred by the heat of the discharge of the gun as hot gases propelled the bullet forward. The brain, which is seen through the hole in the skull, has suffered severe bleeding and damage. The photograph will be used as evidence.
