April 7 and 8 were bright, sunny days and the public came out strongly. Flowers of all kinds were to be had, lilies being the only thing short. Violets and sweet peas were, as usual, the favorites. Various Notes. Fred C. Covill's store was bare by J:5unday noon, and he had a large stock. This was Mr. Covill's first Easter in business and he declared it to be a great success. The offerings of Julius, the Florist, were also cleaned out. He had a heavy call for plants. Azaleas were the best sellers. James Garthlcy, of Fairhaven, could not supply the demand for lilies. Mr. Garthlcy had four church decorations for Easter, which drew heavily on his supply of palms and other decorative stock. The Peokham Floral Co., which does a wholesale business exclusively, had sold everything as early as April 5. Mr. Keed, the manager, believes in prepared- ness. He plans to grow 20,000 Easter lilies next year. William P. Pierce reports a good trade. He had to turn down many orders for lilies. His stock of narcissi was the best in the city. William E.
