Before their departure, wishing to impress the diplomats, Louis XVI asked that a balloon demonstration was made in Versailles on the 19th Sepember. Etienne decided to build a new balloon one thousand four hundred cubic metres more resistant. Under the management of Etienne and Jean-Baptiste Réveillon, the construction workers completed the unexpected, finishing its construction within five days. On the 18th September in front of 300 fascinated spectators, a fixed flight was made in the rue de Montreuil. The following day a new experiment was carried out in the presence of the diplomats and in front of the Royal Family in Versailles. The lid of this toiletry set features a design of this particluar flight in front of the Royal Family and the other diplomats in attendance . The clasp is embellished with opal.
