Every year the in the city of Ottawa the National Capital Commission plants many thousands of tulip bulbs in beds around the city. During the WWII the queen of Holland came to stay in Ottawa and Holland sends tulip bulbs to Ottawa as a thank you. A Tulip Festival is held every May and the city is awash with tulip blossoms.
