Uushigiin Uver Deer Stones, Mörön, Mongolia - a Bronze Age site with 14 upright carved deer stones.

Uushigiin Uver Deer Stones, Mörön, Mongolia - a Bronze Age site with 14 upright carved deer stones, also known as reindeer stones. Steppe tribes believed dead souls departing this world ascended to the sky on the backs of deer. Deer stones are ancient burial markers with flying deer carved on them to represent this act. They can be found all over the world, but are concentrated largely in Siberia and Mongolia and are believed to have originated there.
