Chapel of the Holy Trinity in the village of Legnickie Pole in Lower Silesian Voivodeship, Poland. The chapel was erected on the place were St Hedwig (Jadwiga) found the body of her son Duke Henry II the Pious of Silesia who fallen in the Battle of Legnica. The museum of the Battle of Legnica is in this chapel now. The village of Legnickie Pole (The field of Legnica) was the site of the decisive Battle of Legnica on 9 April 1241. In the battle, Mongols of the Golden Horde defeated a Polish-German army under Duke Henry II the Pious of Silesia. The battle marked the westernmost expansion of the Mongols into Central Europe. Church of St Hedwig (Jadwiga) in honour of the Battle of Legnica was built by Czech Baroque architect Kilian Ignaz Dientzenhofer.
