In 1885 Cornell won from Pennsylvania on the Schuylkill, lowering the record for thecourse. In a regatta held upon Lake Quinsigamond, at Worcester, Mass., her crew finishedfirst in a field of four, but was ruled out on account of fouling with Bowdoin. Bowdoinscourse was a very irregular one and it appeared to impartial critics that she w^as the offenderif blame were to be placed upon any one.
