Secondary nerves 10-15 pair, prominent as well as tertiaiy nerves and intramarginal veins, Fl. 1| in. across, dark pur^Dle, in short axillary racemes, sometimes solitary, sepals rusty-tomentose. Eipe carpels glabrous, oblong, blunt at the ends, 1-11 in., stalks J-1 in. long, on the woody enlarged torus. Seeds numerous. Silhet, Chittagong, Burma. FL Also Malay Peninsula, Ceylon, Java. 2.
