The painted Duck with a beautifully ftriped head; f He fays, that in autumn the females are found on the rivers, but not the males. He adds, that thefe birds are very ftiipid, and are tafily caUght in clear water; for when they fee a man, they dive, and may be killed at the bottom ^rith ftrokes of i. pole.
